Create That “WOW” Factor with These Custom Business Card Holders
I go to a lot of convention and crafting events around the country throughout the year and, just like any other convention or meeting, it's always important to have business cards on hand to exchange with new contacts. My goal is to have cards that are interesting and creative enough to be memorable – a challenge in a creative industry in which many talented crafters hand-make their own business cards.
With two kids and a busy schedule, I am more than happy to turn over the task of making my business cards to my local FedEx Office®. All I have to do is upload the business card image I want and then pick them up, completely done, in no time at all. However, I always like to have a special stash of cards set aside for important business contacts that I’ll likely keep in touch with. For my next project, I thought it would be fun to add my cards to another convention show staple – packs of minty chewing gum.
Here’s what you need to make this project:
Getting this project started was as easy as uploading my desired business card image online at www.fedex.com/printonline and then picking the finished cards up at my local FedEx Office. The cards look great and would be perfect to hand out “as-is,” but I want to add in that extra "wow" factor. To do so, I simply grab a few basic paper crafting supplies and some packs of chewing gum.
To create these "wow" cards that will keep your contacts reaching for your business card over and over again, you simply need to wrap coordinating scrapbook paper around the gum packet, securing the paper with adhesive. The next step is to add your business card, using a single adhesive glue dot. This will ensure that your business card can be easily removed and saved, even after all the gum has been taken. For a completed look, add a bit of baker's twine or some other small embellishment from your crafting stash, making sure not to obscure any key information on your card.
It's really that easy. Let FedEx Office stores do the lion's share of the work by getting your business cards professionally printed. This leaves you more time to do the fun part by adding your eye catching, creative touches. Your new business contacts will be reaching for your card over and over again.
