One Proud “Parent” at Christmas and All Year Round
I am a parent in the unconventional sense. My child is a feisty and fun white and dark gray (almost black) rat terrier fittingly named Oreo. And like most pet owners I know, I can’t imagine life without him. Neither can my parents…who take care of him when I’m traveling for work or just because they want their only “grandchild” to visit. So in my search for some last-minute stocking stuffer ideas, I decided to create them a small Oreo-themed 2010 calendar so they could see his smiling snout even when Oreo’s home with me!
Since this was such a simple and quick project I thought I’d share it here. Start to finish the whole process took less than 10 minutes, and all that’s needed is a photo on a flash drive or CD. Kiosks like the Sony PictureStation let you upload the image to ready-made templates, and you can add a bit of text if you want as well. The springtime-themed calendar I made with Oreo is above, but there are dozens of other templates to choose from. So if you’re really a procrastinator when it comes to holiday shopping and looking for something on December 24, this gift idea might be for you!
